Flipping through one of my Nobuteru
Yuki artbooks (Senshi bankou), I stopped once again
on Escaflowne flower illustrations he did.
For more a decade, I never asked myself why Yuki has drawn flowers around the characters.
(I just thought it was just a nice ornament.)
It’s only recently I felt that, maybe, these flowers have a signification.
So I made some research on flower language…
And I saw these wonderful illustrations with a
brand new eye !
[ DISCLAIMER :
I’m French and I did some researches in my language.
Maybe flowers have different meanings in other cultures, but it seems they have big similarities between japanese and french (so why not for others !).
I found this exercice very pleasant and instructive. ]
